Our Story

HIS Baking Co. | Faith, Family & Food Made with Love

More Than a Bakery.

A Place Where History, Faith, and Family Come Together.

Since 1915, the walls of our little bakery in downtown Wayne, Nebraska, have been filled with the smell of fresh bread, sweet treats, and the warmth of community. From the Johnson family to the Temme family, and now to our family, this building has always been a bakery. More than a century of flour-covered hands, early mornings, cherished recipes, and memories have made this place something truly special. We are incredibly honored to carry on that legacy.

Meet Chris & Jaclyn

We are Chris and Jaclyn, the husband-and-wife team behind HIS Baking Co., and our love for baking and cooking started long before we ever opened these doors. We've spent our lives in the kitchen, learning, experimenting, and growing our skills through years of experience and culinary training. But the heart behind HIS Baking Co. began with something much more personal.

Our journey toward better health changed the way we looked at food.

We began focusing on eating REAL food. Food made from scratch, with honest ingredients, without all the unnecessary additives and shortcuts that have become so common. Along the way, we realized something: everyone deserves to know what's in their food, where it comes from, and that it was made with care.

And we wanted to share that with our community.

Yes, we make donuts!

Big, beautiful, delicious donuts. But we believe even a donut can be made with integrity. We don't rely on dough conditioners or artificial, ready-made frostings. We believe in doing things the old-fashioned way, using real ingredients, time-tested techniques, and a whole lot of love.

Because homemade should actually mean homemade.

Rooted in Our Community

We also believe that supporting local families and businesses makes our community stronger. That's why we are intentional about sourcing ingredients from the hardworking people around us.

Our Faith Is the Heart of Everything We Do

While we love baking, cooking, and making a really great cup of coffee, our greatest purpose goes far beyond what comes out of our kitchen.

HIS Baking Co. was built on our love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our goal has always been to create more than a place to grab breakfast or a donut. We want to create a place that feels like family. A place where you can walk through the doors and feel welcomed, appreciated, and genuinely cared for.

We believe that every person has value, every story matters, and every single person deserves kindness and love. No matter where you come from, what you've been through, or where you are in life, there is a place for you at our table.

Our faith isn't about making anyone feel excluded. It's about sharing the incredible love and grace that Jesus has shown us. We want HIS Baking Co. to be a safe, welcoming place for people from all walks of life, where friendships are made, conversations happen, and people leave feeling a little more loved than when they arrived.

Because at the end of the day, we want you to know something far more important than how good our donuts taste.

You are loved. You are valued. And you are loved by Someone so much greater than this world.

So whether you're stopping in for a hot breakfast, a fresh donut, a handcrafted latte, or simply a friendly face, we hope you feel right at home.

From our family to yours, thank you for allowing us to be part of a bakery tradition that has lasted more than 100 years.

Welcome to HIS Baking Co.

Made from scratch. Rooted in faith. Served with love.
